Personality: Much like Professor Balkrye, he is kind and quick to assist other labs or hunters. Often shows a quick sense of humor in any situation.
History: Niu might be considered young for an android, but he was a project many years in the making.

Professor Balkrye's last project before he left on Pioneer 1 to explore what interests him; researching wildlife. A subject that interested him so extremely, in his free time the Professor could be found building replicas of his favorite creatures.

Sometime later, after Pioneer 2 had been given the green light; his lab assistants signed aboard with an unnamed RAcast, hoping to meet with the professor again. They continued their work on the RAcast, hoping to surprise the Professor with a new lab assistant…

but news broke of the Professor’s death, via a transmission from Pioneer 1. They had already uploaded all of the notes the Professor had both left from research on Coral, and transferred during the long trip to the planet Ragol. They decided, since he would never be able to meet the Professor, they would input all the data they could retrieve on him.
This would prove to have an after effect that elated all the scientists in the group. When the RAcast came online, he believed himself to be the deceased Professor. He began to carry on in the humans' legacy. The android chose the name “Niu” for it’s similarity in sound to "neo" to show that he could be considered the "New Professor Balkrye". He later learned to understand he wasn’t the same person as the professor, but certain data often causes him to feel a nostalgia for something he’s never actually had.

Personality: Quiet,
History: Was among one of the earlier Ruins exploration squads, despite his low-class Hunter’s rank. The squad he was in, was systematically
hunted down and killed by the creatures of the Ruins, until it was just him and his trainer heading deeper into the ruins.

In an attack by a Chaos Sorcerer his trainer was presumed killed, and Juni was knocked out. He was quickly rescued both by his photon beacon, and a nearby Telepipe that allowed other hunters to swoop in and pull him to safety.

At this time, the medical staff was unclear of the effects the ruins would have on survivors; many of them were placed into sanitariums regardless of health.

He would spend of much of the “Pioneer 1’ search here, reverting his Hunter level down to zero. Mostly due to the large shock of losing the people he considered friends and family, he rarely spoke to anyone there and preferred the privacy of his own ‘cell’.

Shortly before the mission to Gal Da Val Island; he was introduced to Niu Balkrye as he was studying the effects of the Ruins on Hunter’s combat abilities. This led him to being rehabilitated back into the
ranks of an "Active" Hunter...
