|Scientists play an essential role in the plot of PSU. Some you just hear of, and others get on your team whether you want them or not. Without scientists, pretty much all of PSU wouldn't of been possible. Again, sceince is presented as "Dangerous" by Sonic team. However, this time they seem more fair-handed on the subject, presenting it instead as a tool that can be dangerous or helpful. Of course, developments and new technologies are much abused by the wrong people. The scientists themselves seem remorseful for what they've done, once again unwitting pawns in a larger 'game'.|
|Name: Dr. Dorson
AKA: Warren Darren
Association: Endrum Collective
Look: Human, brown hair dyed red on top
The first scientist you meet is Dr. Dorson. He claims to be an archaeologist who is studying the relics that opened up when SEED arrived. He does know archaeology, but that's not his real specialty. He is actually into A-Photon research, which is his real purpose in the relics. It turns out that Dr. Dorson isn't his real name. He is actually Warren Darren. Dr. Dorson was killed in the Mellvore Incident, and he was forced by the Endrum Collective to take on the false identity.
It is revealed that the Dr. was essentially "kidnapped" after the Mellvore explosion by the Endrum Collective. By erasing his real identity and forcing him to take on the role of the dead man, they owned his life, and used him as a slave. They implanted nanites into his body and released them into his bloodstream. This was meant as a fail safe, incase he should try to escape, they would be able to either track him, or kill him.
After discovering a small A-photon reactor-sphere in the relics, the Dr. runs into Renvolt Magashi, who demands it. When he discovers that it is lost, and that the Dr. refuses to work for him any more/cooperate, Renvolt activates the nanites which promptly kill him from within.
Name: Kanal Tomrain
Kanal Tomrain appears as a kindly old grand-father type man. He is credited as one of the people who discovered A-photons. This isn't entirely true, because the ancient civilization that left behind the relics, did first. He is associated with the government labs, and is working with the Guardians to find something to stop SEED. He has been working in secret in various underground bases.
Tomrain was able to live a normal life because he escaped Endrum after the Mellvore Incident, and was not assassinated. It is presumed that the government has been keeping him under wraps as well. He has been under protection for 18 years, since Mellvore. He regrets the harm that has come from his work, but he is optimistic that it will eventually save everyone.
|Name: Kou Taragi
Look: Human, brown hair, dyed red on top
Kou Taragi is a brilliant A photon researcher. He switched from photons to A-photons, much to Maya Shidow's dismay. While he was a regular photon researcher, she was his student. It appears that they were also having a relationship. The relationship ended over disagreements about the technology, and what was safe. He still cares about her, and seeks to protect her.
This Dr. was another who escaped the Mellvore explosion, and Endrum as well. He is helping to research ways to repel the SEED. Some how, Kou Taragi ends up on the A-Photon sattelite that becomes the HIVE for SEED, along with several other notable researchers. Hyuga and Maya set out to rescure him and the other scientists before the AMF nukes the hive from the safety of space, with an armada. This rescue attempt fails, and everyone ends up needing to be saved by Ethan and his crew. During his time on the HIVE, he becomes infected with SEED.
How Taragi manages to get infected (when humans are supposed to be immune) is unknown. This infection results in him suddenly transforming into a . Everyone is forced to fight against him, in order to hopefully save him. In his form, he is defeated, and reverts back to being human. Unfortunatly, the ordeal is too much for Kou, and he dies, but not before confessing his love for Maya Shidow.
